Overview

The 2010 Nissan Xterra is a mid-size five-passenger SUV known for its rock-solid on- and off-road performance. The 2010 Nissan Xterra has received the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) highest rating - 5 stars - for side-impact crash safety. The Four Wheeler magazine declared the Xterra as the 2009 Four Wheeler of the Year. The previously optional Technology Package content is now standard on the 2010 Nissan Xterra SE and OR models and revised X Gear Package content is now standard on Xterra S and SE models (X Gear Package equipment remains standard on Xterra Off-Road models, as well). The Xterra is available in four well-equipped 4x2 X, S and SE models and 4x4 X, S, Off-Road and SE models.

An advanced 4.0-liter DOHC V6 engine good for 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque, along with a rugged "F-Alpha" truck platform for adventure-ready performance, drives the 2010 Nissan Xterra. It offers a choice of 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmissions and in a choice of part-time 4-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive. The Xterra can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
